To ensure that you get the most out of your dedicated servers that is running Windows Server 2016 or Windows 2019, you have to enable High Performance mode in power options.
By default, Windows will set your server to the balanced plan which balances performance with energy consumption. Meaning that it will lower your CPU clock speed automatically. However, when you switch to the High-Performance plan, your CPU clock speed will not be automatically lowered and will run at higher speeds most of the time.
Here is how you change your power plan:
1. Press both Windows Key + R to open the run dialog, alternatively Right Click the Windows Start Button and click on Run.
2. Now that run dialog is open, you have to type powercfg.cpl into the box and press OK.
3. Doing so will open the Power Options window. Here is where you change your power plan. You should be able to see the High-Performance plan. If not, you may have to click the drop down for additional plans to enable the High-Performance plan.
